2024 was a transformative year for Sovereign Energy, and it’s all thanks to your support. We’re excited to share with you our 2024 Annual Report, which highlights the strides we’ve made together toward Tribal energy sovereignty and climate leadership.

Here’s a glimpse of what we achieved in 2024:

• Tribal Community Solar Education Forum: Sovereign Energy hosted its second forum, offering Tribes and Pueblos valuable insights into community solar development and the financial resources available for solar projects.
• Preservation of Traditional Cultural Landscapes: Sovereign Energy is proud to dedicate significant capacity to supporting Tribal-led preservation efforts of the Caja del Rio, a sacred and invaluable landscape for Pueblos and Tribes.
• Tribal Transmission Working Group: We played a key role in the creation of a collaborative working group in the Western region to engage Tribes, developers, and federal agencies on transmission projects and policy development.
• BLM Western Solar Plan: Sovereign Energy continued to advocate for enhanced Tribal consultation in the BLM’s review of utility-scale solar projects, prioritizing cultural and environmental protections for Tribal lands.
• New Staff Hires: We welcomed three new staff members, expanding our team to support the growth of our programs and increase our impact.
